CMS is getting a jump start on National Cybersecurity Awareness Month! The Information Security & Privacy Group (ISPG) hosting the annual CISO Cybersecurity Awareness Forum virtually on September 27, 2021.
Creating a culture of cybersecurity is critical for all organizations, including CMS. The internet is used to support many of its day-to-day activities and for many purposes. As more people are working remotely in today’s world, the threat of cyber-attacks is more relevant than ever. These attacks are occurring more frequently and if they are successful, their impacts can be hugely damaging. Being “cyber-safe” at home and knowing how to identify and prevent common cyber-attacks helps promote a more secure internet environment for everyone.
The goal of this forum is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information, to promote individual control over personally identifiable information, encourage compliance with privacy laws and regulations, and encourage dialogues among stakeholders interested in advancing data protection and privacy.
The Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) works in partnership with the entire health care community to improve quality and efficiency in an evolving healthcare system, and provides leadership in the broader health care marketplace. CMS covers 100 million people...through Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program and the Health Insurance Marketplace. To achieve a high-quality health care system, they aim for better care at lower costs and improved health.
