1st Wyoming Computing Symposium: Emerging Computing Approaches, Technologies, and Applications

The Wyoming Computing Symposium was established to showcase the computing research and development taking place in Wyoming and the region that contributes to strengthening our economy and workforce. The Symposium will focus on a different theme each year, with an aim to include emerging computing technologies and approaches, innovative applications of computing, and computing entrepreneurship and bring together those interested in supporting established and new industry and advancing the skills of the Wyoming workforce for their future careers.  The first Wyoming Computing Symposium is supported by the Blockchain Stampede and will focus on new research in emerging computing areas including quantum computing, high-performance and distributed computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and innovative applications of these technologies that advance science, industry, and academia. The symposium will include keynote talks, contributed short talks, poster/lightning talks and a panel.    

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION    

We welcome submissions for short talks, and posters (with an associated lightning talk) that report accomplished work as well as work in progress, we are also interested in works dealing with innovative ideas (theoretical or conceptual) with the potential for significant impact on future research. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

• Innovative use of emerging computing for applications 
• State-of-the art high performance computing and distributed computing 
• Convergence of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence 
• Quantum and cybersecurity algorithms and application scenarios 
• Resiliency against cyber-attacks and emerging attack models  
• Security and privacy challenges in cyber-physical systems 
• Convergence of human computer interactions and machine learning  
• Privacy and security aware design considerations 
• Secure hardware and testbed design 
• Impact of emerging computing on massively distributed computing and Blockchain applications 

Please send your submission for a short talk or poster using the following format: 1) Title, 2) Names, institutions, and email addresses of all authors, 3) Name of presenting author, 4) Proposed format (short talk or poster/lightning talk), 5) Abstract for talk/poster (one or two paragraphs). Submissions should be sent to uwyo-soc@uwyo.edu.

• Notice of acceptance: August 21st
