Hosted by the Office of the Chief Information Officer, this Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) event attracts IT and cyber personnel, as well as NRC contractors. Internally, NRC promotes the event as "HACK," which stands for "Helpful Applied Cyber Knowledge." Their well-received campaign encourages all NRC technology users to be aware of the impact of their activities on connected devices (both at home and in the workplace) and the threats they may potentially and unknowingly generate.This October's event is being held by the Office of the Chief Information Officer as part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year's theme is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” The NRC Information Security Directorate works diligently daily to provide technological protection for our nation's people and environment. Part of their comprehensive approach is to convene semiannually for a 1-day NRC Cybersecurity Seminar with government and industry sessions that focus on what's new and what's next in cyber.The June 2020 virtual event saw its largest participant numbers to date with 360 attendees, and the October event should be no different! Due to its virtual nature, this event has now been opened up to all government agencies.
