Sherri McQueen is the Director of the Financial Services Group (FSG) within the Office of Financial Management (OFM) with responsibility for CMS' debt collection activities, provider and health plan audit and reimbursement operations, banking services, settlements and coordination of benefits functions. Sherri has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since 2015. She has also served as OFM's Acting Deputy Director, and FSG's Deputy Director and Division Director.

Under Sherri's leadership, beginning in 2015, CMS made available administrative settlement options to resolve a backlog of close to 900,000 Medicare claim payment appeals at the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals and Medicare Appeals Council. To date, CMS' has resolved approximately 460,000 appeals through the various appeals settlement programs. In 2018, Sherri received the Executive of the Year award for exceptional leadership. In 2019, due to her recognition as an innovative, result driven leader, Sherri was asked to serve as CMS' Chief Talent Transformation officer. During this assignment, she led a comprehensive diagnostic effort focused on evaluating human capital at CMS across three primary dimensions: Operating Model, Core systems and processes, and two in-flight initiatives (Recruit-to-Hire and Succession Risk Management). She used her experience with Process Robotics Automation to facilitate a prototype of a digital worker to process large volumes of human resource transactions that were prone to errors. Over the past year, Sherri has facilitated three RPA deployments estimated to save 4-5 FTEs per year. Presently, Sherri has temporary joined the new Office of Strategy, Performance and Results to lead the operationalization of the Agency's Enterprise Risk Management capability.

Prior to joining CMS in 2008, Sherri worked for over 19 years in the private sector for one of the largest health insurers in the New York metropolitan area. She served 17 of those years managing and directing CMS's multi-million-dollar Coordination of Benefits contract with a staff of 600 people and 5 contractors. Sherri has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Baruch College, City University of New York, and School of Business.
